Yuba County Wildfire Hazard Reduction Program
The Yuba County RCD is seeking to provide outreach, education, and implementation directed at small forest landowners to create an improved, healthy and fire resilient landscape. This program focuses on the small underserved landowners within the Yuba County foothills and aims to provide Forest Management Plans and implementation of forest thinning treatments. Through this process landowners will become educated on forest improvement/health management needs and feel more confident caring for the land in the future. Through providing initial treatments, and leaving landowners with forest management plans and education, served landowners will be equipped to continue managing their land in the future. Together the Yuba County RCD and small acerage, underserved landowners will help make the forests in Yuba County healthier and the communities more fire resilient. Funding for this project is provided by the California Department of Forestry and Fire
Protection’s Wildfire Resilience Program. Through this program we have secured funding to treat 100 acres.
